Description
The IDAHO Committee Annual Report, as in previous years, gives a panorama of actions for the International Day Against Homophobia & Transphobia, at the international and country level. You can download it here: IDAHO-2013-Annual-Report.
The report also serves as a tool for accessing country pages online, which include more detailed information for each country. You can access these through the hyperlinks embedded in the report (as well as by clicking on the world map on our homepage).
In what was a record year in terms of both breadth and density of events, full reports are available for a massive 112 countries.
It is worth underscoring that in 32 of those countries same sex relationships, or the public expression of LGBT identities, are legally repressed.
2013 was also a record year in terms of public engagement: 104 million unique people were reached by messages about the International Day Against Homophobia & Transphobia 2013 on Twitter alone.
Posts on the IDAHO global facebook page also reached one million unique users on the week around May 17 alone.
Actions were also reported in several other countries where we are waiting for confirmation or details of activities, bringing the total number of participating countries – most probably – close to 120.
If you do have any further information about events which has not been included please email us at contact@dayagainsthomophobia.org, and we will endeavor to include it in the online country reports.
Please help us to spread the word about this year’s events, by disseminating the report widely on your site, social media, twitter feeds, etc…
Thank you,
The IDAHO Committee team.
